Gelcoat Correction • Oxidation Removal • Restoration

Boat Detail Packages & Estimated Pricing

Mobile dockside boat detailing in Daytona Beach & Volusia County (and nearby Central Florida areas)

If your gelcoat looks dull, chalky, faded, or uneven, you don’t need a “random detail” — you need the right level of correction. We keep it simple with three packages based on oxidation severity: a 1-step compound for light oxidation, a 2-step correction for moderate oxidation, and a severe oxidation restoration where sanding may be required in some areas.

Pricing note:

The per-foot pricing below is an estimate. Final pricing is confirmed after we inspect oxidation level, boat layout, access, and any areas that may need sanding. You’ll always know the final price before we start.

Choose the right correction level

These packages focus on the exterior gelcoat condition. If you also need interior work, we can bundle it — see Cabin & Interior Detailing or ask for a combined quote.

Light Oxidation

1-Step Compound Detail

Best for boats that are starting to dull or haze but aren’t severely chalky. Typically requires one compounding step to bring back gloss.

Estimated starting at
$30–$40/ft
Final price confirmed after inspection
  • • Wash & prep for safe correction
  • • 1-step machine compounding (as needed)
  • • Protection applied after correction
  • Premium Wash after (finish-down & presentation)
Optional add-on: Bow-to-stern polishing for swirl/haze refinement.

Moderate Oxidation

2-Step Correction Detail

For boats that are visibly faded or chalky and need a two-step compounding process to properly remove oxidation and restore gloss.

Estimated starting at
~$40–$45/ft
Final price confirmed after inspection
  • • Wash & prep for safe correction
  • • 2-step compounding process (as needed)
  • • Protection applied after correction
  • Premium Wash after (finish-down & presentation)
Optional add-on: Bow-to-stern polishing to refine clarity and reduce swirls.

Severe Oxidation

Severe Restoration (Sanding as Needed)

For heavily chalked, neglected gelcoat where compounding alone won’t restore the finish. Some areas may require wet sanding before correction.

Typical estimated range
~$45–$52/ft+
Quoted after inspection depending on severity
  • • Deep wash & prep for restoration
  • • Wet sanding in some/all areas (as needed)
  • • Compounding steps to restore gloss
  • • Protection applied after correction
  • Premium Wash after (finish-down & presentation)
Optional add-on: Bow-to-stern polishing to maximize clarity and gloss.

How we determine the right package (inspection process)

We don’t guess. We assess gelcoat condition, oxidation level, waterline staining, swirl visibility, and access around rails, towers, hatches, and tight areas. For many boats, a quick photo review works — for heavier oxidation we may do an in-person walkthrough at the marina or storage location.

If your boat is on a schedule (upcoming trip, season start, marina deadline), let us know early — our calendar fills up fast at the beginning of the season.

Detail package FAQs

Quick answers to common questions about oxidation removal, gelcoat correction, and pricing.

Are these prices exact or starting points?

They’re estimated starting points based on boats around 25 ft in average condition. After we inspect your boat’s oxidation level, layout, and access, we confirm the final price with you before any work begins.

What does “bow-to-stern polishing” mean?

It’s a full finishing polish across the gelcoat to reduce haze and swirls after compounding, improve clarity, and maximize gloss. It’s optional and priced based on size and condition.

Do you always need sanding for oxidation removal?

No. Sanding is typically reserved for severe oxidation where compounding alone won’t restore clarity. We only sand where needed, and we’ll explain what we see during inspection.

Can I maintain the results after a correction?

Yes. Most owners keep their boat looking right by pairing periodic correction with recurring washes. See our wash plans and maintenance options to stay slip-ready year-round.
